Just this past weekend we spent a few days in Portland for a bit of shopping and some sightseeing.  We decided to try out a patio lounge/restaurant that Eugene had found prior to our getting to Portland, since we’ve been loving the patio resto/lounge places back home.

Although the rest of Portland seems to be more hipster and laid-back, it was a nice change to be able to go to a restaurant and get all dressed up for the night.  I loved this textured skirt–it was filled with rosettes all around.  I think it gives the all black outfit more dimension!

IMG_7264The restaurant lounge was on the 15th floor of Hotel Nines in Portland, close to Pioneer Square.  It’s like a world away from the rest of the more laid-back casual charm of Portland as I think this is where everyone gathered to see and be seen by the well dressed.  Here, the suits were worn and the beautiful dresses blended in a crowd of the well-polished folk.  The fiancé had a more business casual look with a plaid dress shirt, no tie and blazer.

It was a good night except for the awkwardness of the young couple beside us that seemed to have gotten into a tiff mid-dinner that evening.  Thanks to Departure Restaurant located at Hotel Nines in Portland for such a lovely evening.  If you’re ever in Portland and looking for a romantic ambiance with a gorgeous view of the city, I highly recommend this restaurant!
